2015 Tertiary Grants are CLOSED
Closing date:  4.30pm Thursday 30th April 2015

Applications for 2016
The online form will open mid-late  January, closing end of April.

Don't leave it until the last week or day! 
Submit online forms and supporting papers in ample time prior to closing date.

If you are new to NWEE grants (i.e. new student or have not received a tertiary grant since 2012) please
READ the following instructions and then
REGISTER for your online form using the button at the bottom of the page.

Application can ONLY be made by completing the ONLINE application form. 
- The new online grant system (from 2012 inclusive) requires every applicant to register. 
-  LIFETIME registration:  You will only need to register ONCE then your details remain in the system. 
-  You will be able to use this login/registration to apply for future NWEE online tertiary or postgraduate grants. 
-  Once you are registered, you may login to your profile page at any time throughout the year to update your personal details (e.g. change of address, bank account etc).

  • Eligibility:
    The Board will recognise only those applicants who are Ngati Whakaue descendant of one of the original owners in Pukeroa Oruawhata Block (»view list of owners) OR descendant of one or more of the 6 koromatua of Ngati Whakaue (»view list of koromatua).

    A verified whakapapa sheet must be provided with supporting documents
    (»Click here to print form - can also be accessed from your profile page in the online form).

    Note:  If you received a tertiary grant from 2012 PROVIDED you login using your same registration details, you will not be asked to provide whakapapa information again - the information is retained in the data base.
  • Programme of Study.   Applicants must provide :
    -   evidence that they have been accepted as a student at a university, college of education, polytechnic or whare wananga (must be an NZQA approved institution or equivalent if studying overseas)
    -   details of their programme of study, and
    -   evidence that course fees have been paid.

    Tertiary grants are not available for FREE courses.
  •  Supporting documents.  Each applicant must provide the following documents in support of their application.  A checklist will be included with your Cover Sheet which you will print from your profile page once you have completed your online form.
       -  Verified whakapapa sheet (see note above)
       -  Evidence of Enrolment
       -  Evidence that course fees have been paid
       -  Academic records (to confirm year of study in current programme)
       -  Verification of bank account details
If the Board has to request any information or documents that have not been provided by the closing date, you will have a penalty of 15% imposed on any grant that may be payable.   CHECK your supporting documents carefully.
If supporting documents are sent via email, hard copies must be provided to the Secretary's office otherwise a 15% penalty will be imposed on any grant payable, for administration costs.

  • When you have completed and submitted your online form, return to your PROFILE page to print your personalised Cover sheet  
  • Forward your Cover Sheet and all attachments as per the Cover Sheet checklist to the Secretary's office by the closing date.
